Arab Contractors, one of Egypt’s leading construction firms, has signed a strategic partnership with China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) partner on large-scale infrastructure projects in African countries.
The agreement was announced by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, who described it as a significant step in strengthening bileteral ties with China. The partnership is expected to center utilizing resources and expertise to deliver ambitious mega projects both within Egypt and in other African countries.
Egypt’s Housing Minister Sherif El Sherbiny, who recently visited China, stated that the agreement aims to accelerate the implementation of transformative projects in line with Africa’s development goals.
One of the world’s largest construction companies and a state-owned Chinese enterprise, CSCEC has played an increasingly important role in Egypt’s infrastructure boom. Notable projects include the central business district of the state’s New Administrative Capital and the sprawling New Alamein resort city on the Mediterranean coast.
Arab Contractors, a major player in construction sector, is also involved in the New Alamein project and is currently building the multibillion-dollar Cairo Monorail, which will connect the capital to the New Administrative Capital.
The new partnership positions both companies to engage in joint ventures across the continent and further integrate two state’s expertise in infrastructure development.
