Wingu Group Announces the Launch of TO7 Technology Park to Position Djibouti as East Africa’s Economic Leader
Data operator Wingu Group has announced the opening of the TO7 Technology Park, aimed at positioning Djibouti as an economic leader in East Africa. The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency, President Ismail Omar Guelleg of Djibouti, state ministers, ambassadors, and other prominent political guests.
The park features a Tier 3 carrier-neutral data center, a cable landing station that facilitates international data transfers, and an innovation center. The Tier 3 data center offers 99.982% uptime, ensuring unmatched reliability.
The cable landing station strengthens Djibouti’s strategic position, as it connects Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. The presence of this cable also reinforces the country’s role as a global telecommunications hub.
The innovation center fosters a thriving ecosystem for workspaces and entrepreneurship, helping to create significant employment opportunities. It will attract more foreign investors and, by developing technical skills, will accelerate both economic and technological growth.
As a result, sectors such as education, business, and healthcare will see long-term development in the country.
Nicholas Lodge, Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Wingu, commented on the establishment of the park:
“We are excited to witness the launch of the TO7 Technology Park, which will serve as a catalyst for Djibouti’s digital economy. This park not only provides world-class infrastructure but also fosters innovation, job creation, and economic growth. It is an important step toward positioning Djibouti as a leader in the global tech space, and we are proud to be part of this journey.”
