Nigerian star Samuel Chukwueze, who joined AC Milan with high expectations, has not been able to fully live up to them.
His performance, especially this season, declined significantly within the club. The 26-year-old managed to register only 3 goals and 2 assists throughout the season.
Because of this, it was widely reported that the Italian club had already decided to part ways with him. Fulham and Villarreal were frequently mentioned as potential destinations for the winger.
However, AC Milan has appointed Massimiliano Allegri as the head coach for next season. This change has given Chukwueze a sense of hope. He expressed his desire to stay at Milan with the following words:
“Milan’s supporters are among the best in the world. They truly deserve more.”
“They stand with us through rain and cold, taking off their shirts, singing, and backing the team wholeheartedly.”
“Unfortunately, we let them down this season. I hope next season will be much better – with triumphs in the Scudetto, Coppa Italia, and the Champions League to make up for it.”
Still, Allegri has not made any public comment—either positive or negative—regarding Chukwueze’s situation. The player’s future is expected to become clearer in the coming weeks.
