The second preliminary round matches of the CAF Champions League are set to begin.
These matches will be played from 17–19 October, after which the teams advancing to the group stage will be determined.
Record-winning Egyptian side Al Ahly will face Burundi’s Aigle Noir, while West African powerhouse Remo Stars will take on South Africa’s champion Sundowns.
Espérance de Tunis will go up against Rahimo FC in Burkina Faso, and Orlando Pirates will travel to the Democratic Republic of Congo to face St Éloi Lupopo.
The matches between FC Pyramids and RS Berkane have been postponed due to the upcoming Super Cup clash.
The second-leg matches of this round are scheduled for 24–26 October 2025. Following these fixtures, the 16 winners will advance to the group stage. In November, the group stage will begin, with teams divided into groups of four, and the top two from each group progressing to the quarter-finals.
The tournament will continue with a knockout format after the quarter-finals.
