The group stage draw for Africa’s biggest international club competition, the CAF Champions League, has been announced today.
With 16 teams remaining, the top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals.
In Group A, last season’s champions FC Pyramids of Egypt are joined by RS Berkane of Morocco, the reigning CAF Confederation Cup champions, along with Rivers United FC from Nigeria and Power Dynamos from Zambia.
Group B features the tournament’s most successful club, Al Ahly, who will compete against AS FAR, Young Africans, and JS Kabylie for a place in the next round.
In Group C, last year’s finalists Mamelodi Sundowns will face Sudanese giants Al Hilal SC, MC Alger, and St. Eloi Lupopo in the battle for the top two spots.
Finally, Group D includes Stade Malien, Atlético Petróleos, Simba SC, and ES Tunis.
