Airtel Africa and Vodacom have established a partnership to share infrastructure with the aim of promoting digital inclusion and expanding access to reliable connectivity across Africa.
Through this partnership, infrastructure sharing will be possible in key African markets such as Mozambique, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), subject to regulatory approvals in the respective countries.
This will promote digital inclusion across Africa and mark an important step toward expanding access to reliable connectivity.
In the initial phase, the partnership will focus on sharing fibre networks and tower infrastructure.
This will both increase connectivity for customers and reduce operators’ costs, resulting in shorter time-to-market for services.
As a result, not only will customer experience be improved, but people living in underserved areas will also be able to access these services more easily.
