Beşiktaş has reached an agreement with Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.
Having sold Gedson Fernandes to Spartak Moscow for approximately €21 million, the Black Eagles were able to generate sufficient funds for this transfer.
Earlier in the transfer window, Beşiktaş signed Orkun Kökçü from Benfica to strengthen the central midfield. With the addition of Ndidi, the club has now completed its central midfield setup.
Beşiktaş has also reached an agreement with Ndidi’s current club, Leicester City.
As a result, the player is expected to arrive in Istanbul soon for a medical examination.
The exact transfer fee for Ndidi has not yet been confirmed, but the player reportedly had a €9 million release clause.
Since Leicester City was relegated last season, the club has been open to selling the player in order to ease financial pressure.
For this reason, it is believed that the total cost of the transfer may not be particularly high.
