The finalists of the Basketball Africa League have been determined. In the first of today’s two semi-final matches, one of the tournament favorites, Libyan side Al Ahli Tripoli, emerged victorious against Rwandan team APR. The match ended with a score of 84-71.
In the other game, a surprising result unfolded. Angolan club Petro de Luanda, which had finished second in its group with three losses, defeated the previously undefeated Itthad Alexandria 96-74.
The Algerian team had actually shown a lackluster performance in the quarter-finals against FUS Rabat, so such a dominant result was not expected.
With these outcomes, Africa’s strongest team will be determined after the final clash between Petro de Luanda and Al Ahli Tripoli.
By making it this far, both teams have left a significant mark on the tournament.
