Aston Villa has reached an agreement to sign the Ivorian player for £26 million plus £4.3 million in add-ons.
Last season, Aston Villa relied on Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio in their attack, but this season they have parted ways with both players.
It was precisely to fill this gap that they signed Evann Guessand.
Regarding the transfer, Guessand said:
“When I heard the club wanted me, I didn’t hesitate and accepted the offer. I’m ready to give my all in every game, every position, every minute.”
Guessand delivered an impressive performance at Nice this season, although he still has room for improvement.
This season, the 2025 Marc-Vivien Foé Award for Ligue 1’s Best African Player — the most prestigious African player award in France — was won by Achraf Hakimi, but Guessand finished second in the rankings. This shows just how valuable a player he is.
Guessand can play as a winger, striker, and number 10, which only adds to his value.
