After being eliminated by Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-finals of last season’s CAF Champions League, Al Ahly is determined to build a strong squad for the upcoming season.
As part of this effort, the club has signed three new players, including experienced forward Mohamed Sherif.
The 29-year-old Sherif returns to Al Ahly on a five-year deal after spending two years with Saudi Arabian club Al-Khaleej. His return is seen as a significant boost to the team’s attacking options.
In addition, one of Pharco’s key defenders, Yassin Marei, has signed a five-year contract with the Cairo-based giants. His arrival is expected to strengthen the team’s defensive line.
Lastly, left-back Mohamed Shoukry has joined Al Ahly from Ceramica Cleopatra, also on a five-year deal.
With these new signings, Al Ahly has clearly signaled its ambition to win the league title in the 2025/26 season.
