Al Ahly secured their championship title by defeating Pharco 6-0 in the final match of the season. In the championship game, Palestinian forward Wessam Abou Ali scored four of the six goals and became the star of the match. The other goals were scored by Hussein El Shahat and Emam Ashour.
Following this victory, Al Ahly finished the league in first place with 58 points. Their rivals, FC Pyramids, won their match against Ceramica Cleopatra 5-1, but this result was not enough for them.
Starting the season under Marcel Koller, the Red Devils were led by interim coach Emad El-Nahhas in the final phase of the season. Under his guidance, they won six consecutive matches, capitalizing on Pyramids’ critical point loss to secure the championship.
This season, Al Ahly was both the highest-scoring team in the league with 52 goals and had the best defensive record, conceding only 18 goals.
Al Ahly, who will compete in the upcoming Club World Cup next month, gained great morale from this championship win. Additionally, by achieving this success, they have now won a total of 45 league titles.
