Wolverhampton Wanderers’ left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri has completed a transfer to Manchester City.
After a disappointing Premier League campaign last season, Manchester City have paid £31 million for the Algerian defender.
The 24-year-old is expected to bring both quality and depth to City’s defensive line. Ait-Nouri originally joined Wolves from Angers in 2021 for £14.9 million.
During his time in the Premier League, he significantly improved his game. This past season, he featured in 41 matches, scoring five goals and providing seven assists—playing a crucial role in helping Wolves avoid relegation.
“I’M EXCITED ABOUT WORKING WITH PEP.”
His contributions on both the defensive and offensive ends have made him a highly valuable player. Following his transfer, Ait-Nouri made the following statement:
“City are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the chance to play for them is a dream come true. I am excited about working with Pep Guardiola and his coaching staff, and training and playing alongside such a world-class group of players.”
Earlier this summer, City also reached a £46.3 million agreement with AC Milan to sign Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders.
Now, they are targeting Chelsea’s experienced goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli to strengthen their squad further.
