The Nairobi Hospital has adopted a new technology-driven strategy to combat the recent rise in non-communicable diseases in Kenya.
At the heart of this strategy is the modernization of diagnostic services. As part of this effort, a cutting-edge AI-powered CT scanner will be introduced.
A NEW ERA IN THE FIGHT AGAINST DEADLY DISEASES
This scanner is of vital importance for the diagnosis of common and potentially fatal conditions such as cancer, neurological disorders, and cardiovascular diseases.
Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Health, Aden Duale, attended the launch event and made the following statement:
“This is more than a machine — it is a life-saving innovation.”
“This scanner proves that world-class healthcare services can be provided in Kenya. It is a bold step toward reducing the number of the 11,000 Kenyans who travel abroad for treatment each year.”
EXPANDING ACCESS THROUGH PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP
During the event, a public-private partnership agreement was also signed between The Nairobi Hospital and the newly established Social Health Authority (SHA).
This agreement aims to improve access to high-quality diagnostic services for more Kenyans.
A CALL TO HEALTH WORKERS: STRIKES MUST END
Cabinet Secretary Duale also emphasized the need to end ongoing strikes by healthcare workers in the country.
He highlighted the importance of stability and investment in the health sector to ensure access to quality care for all citizens.
DISCOUNT OPPORTUNITY FOR CT SCANS
To encourage use of the new CT scanner, The Nairobi Hospital announced a 10% discount on all CT scan services.
This discount will be valid from June 15 to July 14, 2025.
