The African Union’s Peace and Security Council (PSC) has reiterated the importance of the Skhirat and Bouznika agreements as key frameworks for resolving the ongoing crisis in Libya.
In a statement, the PSC emphasized that the 2015 Skhirat Agreement, which was part of the UN-backed reconciliation process between Libyan factions, remains a solid foundation for a lasting political solution.
The council also recognized the progress made in Libya’s electoral preparations, noting the successful joint committee meetings held between the House of Representatives and the High Council of State from May to June, which addressed disagreements and established laws for upcoming presidential and legislative elections.
