Recently, the Saudi Pro League has made a significant leap, bringing talents from all over the world to the country.
Among these talents are over 50 African footballers, including star names such as Riyad Mahrez, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Sadio Mane. The outstanding performances of some African footballers in the league have garnered attention.
Moroccan Abderrazak Hamdallah, Gambian Musa Barrow, Cameroonian Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, Ghanaian Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Comorian Myziane Maolida have already reached double figures for goals in the top flight.
Each league team has the right to sign up to 10 foreign players, with two of them required to be born in 2003 or later. This, along with the success of African footballers in the league, is encouraging Saudi Arabian clubs to sign players directly from Africa.
African footballers now have a new platform to showcase their talents, and their success in the league is helping to bring the two regions closer together through sport.
