The AFCON U-20 semi-final matches will be played today. The tournament follows a single-elimination format, and today’s winners will qualify for the finals, which will take place on Sunday, May 18.
The first match of the day will be between Nigeria and South Africa. Nigeria had to overcome last year’s champions Senegal via a penalty shootout to reach this stage of the competition.
On the other hand, South Africa recovered well after a 4-1 loss to tournament hosts Egypt in the group stage, managing to make it all the way to the semi-finals.
Both teams are in impressive form, and although Nigeria are seen as slight favorites to reach the final, anything can happen in a knockout game.
In the day’s final match, Morocco—who remain unbeaten in the tournament—will face hosts Egypt.
Nigeria vs South Africa – 15:00 GMT
Morocco vs Egypt – 18.00 GMT
The matches will be available to watch on CAF’s official YouTube channel.
