AC Milan have stepped up their efforts to sign Nigerian striker Victor Boniface. It has been confirmed that the Italian club has officially entered into talks for the 24-year-old forward.
Reports indicate that the player himself is very keen on the move.
Boniface caught attention with his impressive performances at Bayer Leverkusen and was one of the key figures in the team’s Bundesliga title-winning campaign.
However, the German side recently appointed Erik ten Hag as head coach, replacing Xabi Alonso. Following this managerial change, Boniface may no longer play as crucial a role in the new system.
As a result, Leverkusen are reportedly open to selling him for a transfer fee in the range of €40 to €50 million.
Several Premier League clubs and teams from Saudi Arabia are also said to be interested in the Nigerian forward. However, Boniface is believed to favour a move to Milan over other options.
If Milan manage to complete the transfer, they would significantly bolster their attacking lineup.
