Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to travel to Türkiye on Monday for an official visit aimed at deepening relations between the two countries, according to the Nigerian presidency.
The visit will prioritise expanding cooperation in key sectors such as security, education, social development, innovation and aviation. Officials said discussions will also cover broader strategic areas including trade, investment, finance and communications.
During the visit, President Tinubu is expected to hold meetings with senior Turkish officials, with several memorandums of understanding anticipated in fields ranging from scientific research and energy to defence and military cooperation.
A bilateral business forum bringing together Nigerian and Turkish investors is also planned, with the goal of encouraging stronger private-sector partnerships and new investment opportunities.
The trip builds on the growing engagement between Abuja and Ankara and follows Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s official visit to Nigeria in October 2021, which marked a significant step in strengthening diplomatic and economic ties.
