Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has heavily criticized Mohamed Salah.
Although Salah is currently Liverpool’s second-highest scorer after Hugo Ekitike, his form is far below what it was last year.
Carragher stated that Salah’s “legs have gone” and suggested that he is showing signs of aging.
Speaking to CBS Sports after Liverpool’s 4-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven, Carragher expressed his frustration with the team:
“If I’m being completely honest, I’m very angry with the players. I’m really frustrated with them.
“There comes a point at every club and with every manager where things become untenable, where it almost feels like it can’t continue any longer.
“I’m not quite at that point yet, at least from a manager’s perspective, but I know many supporters are.”
Carragher then referred to the key players of Klopp’s 2018 Liverpool side:
“The driving force back then was Alisson, Van Dijk, and Salah. Alisson now gets injured frequently and can’t play every match. You look at Van Dijk, he’s not the same player anymore. And Mo Salah… I think his legs have gone.”
He also reminded that he has occasionally criticized Salah off the pitch and added:
“I want him to come out and do an interview today. He should speak to Liverpool supporters, explain what the players are going to do, reveal what’s happening in the dressing room, and give the fans hope.”
