The announcement came during an extraordinary party congress held at the Palais du Peuple, where supporters from across the country gathered for the endorsement.
Guelleh, who has governed Djibouti since 1999, accepted the nomination and pledged to continue prioritizing national unity, stability, and development amid rising global and regional challenges.
His candidacy has also received backing from allied parties within the Union for the Presidential Majority (UMP). In a significant development, the main opposition group, the Union for Democracy and Justice (UDJ), also endorsed Guelleh’s bid, signaling broad political consensus ahead of the vote.
