The Government of Guinea has launched a major initiative aimed at connecting 2,200 public primary schools to the internet.
This step is expected to significantly boost digital education and inclusion across the country in the long term.
The launch ceremony, held at the People’s Palace in Conakry, was attended by Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah, along with government officials, education authorities, and international partners.
The event addressed key national challenges such as the digital divide and teacher shortages, while emphasizing the goal of preparing Guinean students to thrive in an increasingly connected world.
Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Economy Rose Pola Pricemou highlighted that the initiative aligns with the country’s Simandou 2040 vision and national digital strategy.
Centered around the pillars of infrastructure, inclusion, and digital sovereignty, the project represents a major step forward in building a modern and equitable education system.
Prime Minister Bah reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the project’s success and expressed his gratitude to President General Mamadi Doumbouya for his leadership in prioritizing digital education.
