Ghana Becomes Pioneer of Africa’s First Financial Network
Ghana’s District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) and Singapore-based Embed Financial Group Holdings (EFGH) have launched “Finternet”, a platform designed to connect governments, communities, and businesses through payment, credit, and insurance services.
Under this agreement, transactions between Ghana’s district assemblies, local governments, citizens, and enterprises will be streamlined. The platform will also feature integrated microinsurance and SME protection programs.
A green data center infrastructure powered by hydro and solar energy will support the Finternet network.
DACF Administrator Harry Yamson stated that the partnership “will enhance Ghana’s capacity to mobilize funds and expand financial inclusion for citizens and small businesses in rural areas.”
The project is also expected to create local employment and enhance transparency in public fund management.
