Sudan is experiencing one of the most severe humanitarian crises in recent years. Millions have been displaced, and civilians are living under constant threat amid ongoing conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces.
In response, the “Stand With Sudan” campaign has emerged as a global movement urging immediate international action. The initiative seeks to amplify awareness of the crisis, mobilize public pressure on governments, and push world leaders to prioritize Sudan in humanitarian and diplomatic efforts.
The campaign allows individuals worldwide to send messages directly to their government representatives, calling for stronger measures to protect civilians and facilitate humanitarian access. It also highlights grave human rights abuses — including attacks on women, children, and the elderly, as well as reports of sexual violence, mass executions, and arbitrary detentions.
Organizers emphasize that external actors fueling the conflict and the presence of foreign fighters have further deepened the suffering of Sudan’s population. The initiative combines online mobilization with street-level activism, aiming to build global solidarity through protests, petitions, and social media engagement.
Participants demand that governments guarantee humanitarian access, safeguard civilians, and ensure accountability for war crimes. By spreading these messages internationally, “Stand With Sudan” hopes to pressure world leaders into coordinated and meaningful action.
Since fighting erupted in April 2023, the war has devastated the country. Cities like El-Fasher remain under siege, with humanitarian aid unable to reach millions trapped by the violence. According to the United Nations, more than 14 million people have been displaced, and approximately 30 million now depend on humanitarian assistance for survival.
