TECNO has begun efforts to transform football pitches across Africa.
The initiative, called the 100-Pitch Renovation Project, was launched at Austin Grounds in the Mulango Kubwa area of Mathare.
TECNO’s involvement in this project followed the company’s announcement as a partner for the AFCON 2025 Morocco Tournament and the 2027 East Africa Tournament.
Hashim Kamau, Member of the County Assembly for Kinyago California Ward, highlighted the significance of the partnership, saying:
“This partnership between TECNO and AFCON is not just about celebrating football at the highest level; it is also about investing in the grassroots — where the true heartbeat of the game lies.”
TECNO also became the first mobile technology brand to fund sports infrastructure projects at the continental level.
This project reflects the company’s vision of inspiring hope, unity, and progress through sport.
