The African qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup will conclude tomorrow with the final round of matches.
Yesterday, several groups played their last games.
In Group I, Ghana — who had already secured top spot — defeated Comoros 1-0 thanks to a goal from Mohammed Kudus. Mali beat Madagascar 4-1 but still couldn’t avoid finishing third. Despite the defeat, Madagascar held on to second place in the group with 19 points. The Central African Republic, meanwhile, earned a 3-2 victory over Chad.
In Group A, Egypt, who had already booked their place at the World Cup, defeated Guinea-Bissau 1-0 with a goal from substitute Mohammed Hamdi. Burkina Faso beat Ethiopia 3-1, once again proving why they finished second in the group.
Lastly, Sierra Leone defeated Djibouti 2-1, but both teams were already eliminated from the competition.
In the day’s final match, Niger beat their Group E rivals Zambia 1-0, securing second place in the group.
