African Teams Slowly Securing Their World Cup Spots
The teams from Africa that will participate in the World Cup finals, featuring 48 nations, are gradually becoming clear.
Following today’s matches, after Morocco and Tunisia, Egypt and Ghana have also officially secured their places in the World Cup.
SALAH’S GOALS PROPEL EGYPT TO THE NEXT ROUND
Egypt defeated Djibouti 3-0, with Salah scoring 2 goals and Ibrahim Adel adding another, securing the top spot in Group A regardless of the outcome of their remaining matches.
Burkina Faso beat Sierra Leone 1-0 to claim second place. In the group’s other match, Ethiopia won 1-0 against Guinea-Bissau.
COMPETITION CONTINUES IN GROUP D
In Group D, Libya and Cape Verde played to a 3-3 draw.
Even after Cameroon defeated Mauritius 2-0, Cape Verde remains the group leader. However, if they drop points against Eswatini in their final match, they could lose the top spot. In the other match, Angola drew 2-2 with Eswatini.
GHANA DOMINATES WITH A STUNNING WIN
In Group I, one of the tournament favorites, Ghana, crushed the Central African Republic 5-0, securing the group lead.
Madagascar defeated a 10-man Comoros 2-1 to secure second place, while Mali defeated Chad 2-0.
SECOND PLACE RACE HEATS UP IN GROUP E
Finally, two matches were played in Group E. In the group where Morocco had already secured first place, Niger defeated the Republic of Congo 3-1, gaining a crucial advantage for second place.
In the other match, Tanzania beat Zambia 1-0, reaffirming their presence in the race for second place.
