The champion of the 2025 FIBA U16 AfroBasket was Côte d’Ivoire. The tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) award was claimed by Jean-Philippe Oka.
Oka averaged 16.2 points, 12 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. Thanks to this impressive performance, he helped his team go undefeated throughout the tournament and secure the championship. He also scored 18 points in the final, becoming his team’s top scorer.
Jean-Philippe Oka was also selected for the All-Tournament Team, showcasing his high potential. His teammate Iréné Ouedraogo was included in the All-Tournament Five as well.
From the runner-up team Cameroon, Nolan Ngangmeni and Olivier Ngoumou were also selected for the All-Tournament Team. The final spot went to young Malian player Bakary Ballo.
Olivier Ngoumou was the tournament’s top rebounder with 80 rebounds, while Nolan Ngangmeni was named the best three-point shooter with 15 made shots.
Jean-Philippe Oka was the tournament’s top scorer, and the Fair Play Award went to Rwanda.
