India’s telecommunications tower company Indus Towers has decided to expand into Africa. The company has initially identified Nigeria, Uganda, and Zambia as its target markets.
Indus Towers stated that it aims to establish a strong and competitive presence in these regions in a short period of time.
Managing Director and CEO Prachur Sah commented on this move:
“The board’s approval to enter international markets in Africa unlocks our vision for long-term sustainable growth and value creation for our shareholders.
By leveraging our expertise in delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions, we are well-positioned to differentiate ourselves in Africa’s rapidly growing telecom market and emerge as the preferred tower company.”
Indus Towers will also benefit from Airtel Africa’s established presence in 14 markets, where it has been operating since 2010.
The company will compete in the African market with firms such as IHS Towers, Helios Towers, and American Tower Corp (ATC).
