The transfer of Lookman, whose moves to Inter and Bayern Munich fell through, began to be linked with Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray after the European transfer window closed.
The player had stated that he did not want to play for Atalanta and had removed all posts related to the club from his social media accounts.
However, although the player is not keen on playing for Atalanta, he is also not currently warm to the idea of a move to the Turkish League.
Furthermore, the Champions League squads were announced yesterday, and Lookman’s name was included in that squad. For this reason, the Italian club will now be far more reluctant to let their player go compared to before.
Galatasaray, one of the clubs interested in him, might be hesitant to sign him because they cannot offer him European football. Fenerbahçe, on the other hand, have already transferred Kerem Aktürkoğlu for that position.
For these reasons, it is estimated that the Nigerian player will remain with the Italian club at least until the winter transfer window.
