The FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers are set to begin shortly.
Teams such as Egypt, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Morocco, South Africa, Ghana, and Tunisia have largely secured their places at the top of their groups based on their previous performances.
However, the fate of countries like Nigeria, Angola, and Kenya remains uncertain. Following the qualifiers, nine teams will earn the right to participate in the tournament.
Unlike previous editions, this World Cup will feature 48 teams in total. In the last tournament, Morocco made history by reaching the semi-finals.
Africa boasts many strong national teams, and once again, an African side is expected to make a significant impact on the global stage.
The qualifiers will kick off on September 3, with most of the matches being completed by September 5.
However, due to some postponements, it is not yet clear when the entire qualification phase will officially conclude.
