Kenya and Kuwait have announced that they will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen and formalize their partnership in sectors such as Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Health, Transport, and Labour.
William Kabogo Gitau, Cabinet Secretary of Kenya’s Ministry of Information, Communication and Digital Economy, stated that this partnership will play an important role in enhancing cooperation in the digital economy.
In a meeting with Kuwait’s Charge d’Affaires Abdullahi Al-Fahad in Nairobi, the two sides discussed ways to further strengthen this collaboration.
Under the planned MOU, Kenya will implement 100,000 kilometers of high-speed fiber optic cable nationwide, establish 1,450 digital hubs across the country, and launch various digital literacy programs.
The agreement is expected to strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries and support Kenya’s digital development.
