After suffering a heavy 4-0 defeat against Manchester City in the opening week of the season, Wolves moved quickly to strengthen their defense by signing Jackson Tchatchoua for €12.5m.
The Cameroon defender, who had been playing for Hellas Verona, signed a five-year contract with the Premier League club.
Last season, Tchatchoua was named the fastest player in Serie A, recording an average speed of 34.88 km/h. In addition to his defensive contributions, the 23-year-old also registered 2 goals and 3 assists in 37 appearances for Verona.
This move marks Wolves’ fifth signing of the summer. The club had already secured striker Jorgen Strand Larsen on a permanent deal worth £23m following his loan spell, as well as signing forward Fer Lopez for £19m, winger Jhon Arias for £15m, and defender David Moller Wolfe for £10m.
Capable of playing as a right-back or wing-back, Tchatchoua is expected to further strengthen both Wolves’ defensive stability and attacking depth.
