Two clubs backed by Arab investment are locked in a fierce race to sign Brentford’s Congolese striker Yoane Wissa.
One of them is Al-Nassr, the club where Cristiano Ronaldo also plays, and the other is Premier League powerhouse Newcastle City.
Newcastle City is having a difficult transfer window. After losing Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United, they moved quickly to pursue Yoane Wissa, making a $40.3 million offer. However, Brentford rejected the bid.
The setbacks didn’t end there. Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr has also shown interest in the player.
With no spending limits, Al-Nassr may have a stronger hand in this transfer battle.
However, the player’s final decision will be crucial in determining how the transfer unfolds.
Last season, Wissa scored 19 goals and provided 5 assists in 35 league matches, and is expected to deliver an impactful performance regardless of which club he chooses.
