After a challenging transfer saga, Bryan Mbeumo has officially joined Manchester United.
Mbeumo signed a five-year contract. Initially, United offered £55 million for the Cameroonian winger, but Brentford rejected the bid.
Manchester United increased their second offer to £62.5 million, which was also turned down.
Eventually, the Red Devils returned with a third bid, raising the offer to £65 million and including an additional £6 million in add-ons.
This offer was accepted, bringing the seven-week-long transfer saga to an end.
The Cameroonian international will wear the number 19 shirt at Manchester United.
In the Premier League, Mbeumo had the third-highest shot conversion rate (23.53%) last season, behind only Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak. He also recovered possession 32 times in the final third, ranking third in the league in that area.
Known for his explosive ball carries over long distances, Mbeumo was also instrumental in creating numerous goal-scoring opportunities throughout the season.
Manchester United finished 15th in the league last season and scored only 44 goals. For that reason, this transfer is seen as a crucial reinforcement for the team’s attacking line.
