Tunisian tennis player Ons Jabeur has announced that she is taking a break from her career:
“I have been pushing myself very hard for the past two years; battling injuries and facing many challenges. But deep down, I haven’t felt happy on the court for some time now.”
“Tennis is a beautiful sport. However, right now I feel it’s time to take a step back and put myself first for the first time: to breathe, to heal, and to rediscover the joy of simply living.”
As a result, it has been confirmed that the professional player, who was once ranked number 2 in the world and is currently ranked 71st, will not participate in next month’s US Open.
Ons Jabeur said she needs some rest and plans to step away from tennis to spend time with her family.
