Former head coach of the Nigerian national football team, Monday Sinclair, has passed away.
The legendary figure, who wore the Green Eagles jersey in the 1960s, made significant contributions to Nigerian football both as a player and a coach.
Sinclair, who died at the age of 88, began his coaching career with the now-defunct Sharks FC. He went on to manage Niger Tornadoes, Enugu Rangers, and Bayelsa United.
In 1997, he was appointed head coach of the Nigerian national team, and later took charge of the Equatorial Guinea national team.
Sinclair is remembered as a pivotal figure in Nigerian football, credited with discovering and mentoring talents such as Peter Rufai, Taribo West, Finidi George, and Peterside Idah.
