Mozambican left-back Reinildo Mandava has signed a two-year contract with English club Sunderland.
The experienced defender, who joined Atletico Madrid from Lille in 2022, had recently become a free agent following the end of his contract with the Spanish side.
With this move, Sunderland have completed their fourth signing of the summer as they prepare for their return to the Premier League.
Speaking about the transfer, Reinildo said:
“It has always been my dream to play in the Premier League. I can’t wait to wear the shirt of a historic club like Sunderland.”
“I want to meet the team, fight, and give everything for the club. I hope to support my teammates, bring strength, and share my experience in the dressing room.”
“Above all else, I want to make people happy – and I will give everything to make that happen.”
