Ghanaian left winger Kamaldeen Sulemana has joined Atalanta, one of the most in-form teams in Serie A in recent years.
Atalanta secured the 23-year-old’s transfer for €18 million, including a sell-on clause.
The deal is said to have been heavily influenced by Atalanta manager Ivan Juric. Juric, who previously managed Southampton, had the opportunity to work with the talented Ghanaian during his time there.
Sulemana was signed by Southampton for a club-record fee of €22 million.
He made 74 appearances for the English side, and although he didn’t deliver the expected goal contributions, he still possesses tremendous potential.
With this move, Atalanta has made clear its intention to build a strong and competitive squad for the future.
