Trabzonspor have made significant progress in the Paul Onuachu transfer.
The Nigerian striker, who moved to Southampton two years ago, failed to make the expected impact in England.
The following season, he was loaned to Trabzonspor, where he rediscovered his form, scoring 17 goals and providing 4 assists in the Turkish Super Lig. His performances quickly turned him into a fan favorite.
Due to his strong impact, Trabzonspor aimed to sign him permanently. However, the move did not materialize at the time, as the English club demanded a high transfer fee.
This season, with Onuachu struggling with injuries and Southampton being relegated, the club decided to significantly lower their asking price. The Black Sea side have now reached an agreement with Southampton for a fee of €8 million.
If Trabzonspor can also reach an agreement with the player on personal terms, the transfer is expected to be completed in the coming days.
