Zambia to use AI and remote diagnostics in 20 facilities to expand nationwide healthcare access.
In an effort to improve healthcare access across the country, Zambia will implement artificial intelligence and remote diagnostic systems in 20 different facilities.
To bring this project to life, the Ministry of Technology and Science of Zambia is collaborating with the Ministry of Health, 73 Health Global, and Pentatech Ltd.
This initiative has been launched as a pilot project, supported by the Government of Finland and Paratus Zambia. The remote diagnostic technology is already being used effectively in several countries, including China, Finland, and Canada.
The Larry RX AI, developed specifically for Zambia, aims to ensure safe treatment for patients. With this system, doctors will not need to be physically present, making remote consultations possible. This will allow people living in rural areas of Zambia to access healthcare services in a timely manner.
This is not the first partnership between Zambia and Finland. Honourable Minister Felix Mutati has previously collaborated with Finland—known for its technological innovation—on several similar initiatives.
Minister of Technology and Science, Honourable Felix C. Mutati, emphasized that healthcare is not a privilege but a right, and every Zambian should be able to access it affordably.
