Mozambican winger Geny Catamo, who currently plays for Sporting CP, is attracting interest from several top Premier League clubs.
Having enjoyed a consistent rise in form, the 24-year-old is on the radar of Arsenal, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Fulham, all of whom are reportedly keen to make a move for him.
Although Catamo’s natural position is on the right wing, he has frequently been deployed as a right wing-back for the Portuguese side. His versatility in both positions makes him a valuable asset, and the chances of a tempting offer arriving for the player are quite high.
Sporting CP remain firm on the €60 million release clause in Catamo’s contract. However, some clubs are reportedly willing to test the waters with bids in the €25–30 million range.
With Aston Villa likely to lose Leon Bailey during the summer transfer window, Catamo could be a strong replacement option. Nevertheless, meeting Sporting’s valuation may be financially challenging for the Birmingham-based club.
The most serious interest, however, appears to be coming from Arsenal and Newcastle United. Both clubs are said to be considering Catamo primarily as a right wing-back option to bolster their squads.
