Ghana national team head coach Otto Addo has announced a 23-man squad for the upcoming Unity Cup 2025.
The star-studded team includes four players from the Ghanaian domestic league. Among them are Benjamin Asare of Hearts of Oak, Kamaradini Mamudu of Medeama SC, Nations FC center-back Razak Simpson, and Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku.
The squad also features standout performers from Ghana’s U20 national team, Abdul Aziz Issah and Aaron Essel, who impressed at the recent AFCON U20 tournament.
Former West Ham United goalkeeper Joseph Tetteh Anang, who currently plays for St. Patrick’s Athletic in Ireland, has received a call-up. Talented midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi, who had a remarkable season with Danish top-flight side FC Nordsjaelland, and Mohammed Gadafi Fuseini of Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise are also included in the squad.
Sunderland midfielder Abdul Samed Salis, returning striker Felix Afena Gyan, and Anderlecht midfielder Majeed Ashimeru have all made their way back into the team.
At the Unity Cup, Ghana will compete against Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, and Jamaica. Ghana will face Nigeria on May 28, and if victorious, will advance to the final scheduled for May 31.
