IHS Nigeria and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to protect telecommunications infrastructure across Nigeria from theft, vandalism, and service disruptions.
IHS Nigeria currently owns over 16,000 towers nationwide and has deployed more than 15,000 kilometers of fiber optic cables.
The NSCDC, on the other hand, is the official security agency tasked with safeguarding the country’s critical national information infrastructure.
Thanks to this partnership, the two institutions plan to work together to develop and implement strategies aimed at protecting their assets and other telecommunications infrastructure, which are protected by law and are vital to the growth of Nigeria’s digital economy.
The NSCDC will support IHS Nigeria in areas such as site surveillance, emergency response, and incident reporting.
IHS Nigeria, for its part, will initiate the necessary processes to ensure the success of this collaboration.
