Espérance have been crowned champions of Tunisia for the 2024/2025 season. With just one week left in the league, they secured their 34th title in history by thrashing Olympique Béja 5-0.
Their rivals, Étoile Métlaoui, drew 1-1, which allowed Espérance to extend the points gap to 5. With the final league match against Monastir, Espérance has already mathematically clinched the title, regardless of the outcome.
Maher Kanzari, who took over the team after a period of instability, was one of the key architects of this success.
When Kanzari took charge in the 6th matchday, Espérance was in 6th place with just 9 points. Under his guidance, the team quickly regained their rhythm and moved to the top of the table.
Now, Espérance aims to complete a domestic treble by winning the Tunisian Cup. They will face ES Zarzis in the quarterfinals.
