Mamelodi Sundowns, who are on the verge of winning their eighth consecutive PSL title and have reached the CAF Champions League final, are now facing a new challenge.
Due to the high performances of their players, European clubs have turned their attention to the South African giants.
French Ligue 1 side Lille is reportedly interested in signing Sundowns’ star player Lucas Ribeiro. Ribeiro, who is the frontrunner for the PSL Player of the Year award, could be lured away with a significantly higher offer than what Sundowns are willing to provide.

But Lucas Ribeiro Costa isn’t the only Sundowns player on the radar of French teams. Another key figure in the squad, Teboho Mokoena, is said to be attracting interest from another unnamed French club.
Meanwhile, Sundowns’ main rivals, Orlando Pirates, may struggle to keep hold of their rising star Relebohile Mofokeng. The young talent is expected to receive several offers from major clubs at the end of the season.
Another South African powerhouse, Kaizer Chiefs, might also miss out on one of their top transfer targets, Fiston Mayele. FC Pyramids, who have also reached the CAF Champions League final, are preparing to offer Mayele a new two-year deal, which could derail Chiefs’ plans to bring him in.
